Hey everybody,
Thought I would start a section on swimming holes. The following website is great, http://www.swimmingholes.org/ , select a state and it gives you directions to a lot of hikes with swimming holes. If anybody has any good local holes they frequent, shoot a note in the comments. I recommend st. mary's.

My kids like putting our kayaks in at the bridge on Reas Ford Road and paddling up the Rivanna/Moormans/Resevoir (whatever it is at that point) less than a mile. There is a deep hole at a sharp bend in the river with a huge flat rock to sit on/have lunch/jump off/slid kayaks off into the water. Friends of ours have camped just short of that spot. That spot is probably technically your drinking water--so we probably shouldn't be doing that--you may want to boil your water from now on.
I wish I could do fun stuff like that...
